What Do I Do When I Feel Flat at Training?
Rhema Adelaja · National Champion & 4x DUX
Start with one small cue, such as clean technique, instead of trying to do everything. Lean on your usual routine and a short reset before you begin. Move with purpose and stand tall. If you feel flat for weeks, tell a parent, your coach or a doctor.
The answer
- Narrow your attention to one cue or one task. Pick something small, like clean technique.
- Lean on your routine. A routine carries you when energy and motivation are low.
- Use a short reset before you start. Shut down what came before, reset your body and prime for the session.
- Move with purpose and stand tall. Your posture and body language can shape your mindset.
- Aim for good form over hard effort on a flat day. Tired athletes lean on the basics.
- If you feel flat for weeks, not just one day, tell a parent, your coach or a doctor. Do not push through it alone.
