Should I study on the bus to a competition?

Rhema Adelaja · National Champion & 4x DUX

Usually no. When you travel to compete, protect that time so you arrive ready: music, quiet, or a conversation that has nothing to do with school. When you travel to school, use the time to study.

The answer

  1. Before you leave, decide which trip it is: a trip to compete or a trip to school.
  2. Trip to compete: keep the textbook in your bag. Choose music, silence, or an easy conversation.
  3. Trip to school: use it. Pick one small task and do it.
  4. Think of the ride to a competition as part of your warm-up, not a study session.
