How do I plan my week when my training load changes?

Rhema Adelaja · National Champion & 4x DUX

Build two plans, a normal week (Version A) and a harder week (Version B). On Sunday night, decide which kind of week this really is before you commit to what gets done.

The answer

  1. Version A is your normal week: the usual training, energy and recovery.
  2. Version B is the harder week: an extra session, stronger competition nerves, or a session that runs long.
  3. On Sunday night, look at the week ahead and choose A or B.
  4. Only then decide your study blocks.
  5. A plan built on how last week felt breaks when this week is different. Two plans and one decision means fewer surprises.
