How do I apply for a university sports scholarship? A checklist
Rhema Adelaja · National Champion & 4x DUX
Use this checklist. Find the scholarship page, read the rules, confirm you qualify, note the deadline, apply for a degree place, complete the application form, add any letters, and email the performance sport team. Check each step on the official page, because every university differs.
The answer
- Find the university's official scholarship page.
- Read who can apply and which sports are accepted.
- Write down the deadline and the date you will send your application.
- Apply for a place on a degree, or confirm you hold one. Stirling needs this. DCU's CAO points concession needs a CAO application as well, by the normal closing date.
- Complete the application form. Paper or late applications may not be accepted. DCU says so.
- Gather what the page asks for: results, referees, and any letter from your national governing body.
- Send it before the deadline. Keep a copy.
- Email the performance sport team to confirm they have it and to ask when results come out.
- Keep applying to more than one place. Offers differ.
